This tour is designed to give travelers a little taste of the Vietnamese culture in Ho Chi Minh city and its surrounding area. During a stunning 5 day holiday, you will discover the sites of interest such as the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, or take a short beach escape to Vung Tau city – preserves the feel of a harmonious community of religions, beaches, and architecture, both old and new. Lastly, enjoy an excursion to Mekong Delta with its rice paddies and amazing canals through the eyes of your experienced native guide.
You will be greeted by your guide & driver upon arrival at HCMC's Tan Son Nhat airport. You will then be escorted to your hotel in town for check-in.
In the afternoon you will take a half-day city tour to visit the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Post Office - some of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture remain. Then you will go to some famous shopping malls such as Saigon Square, Diamond Plaza & the colorful Ben Thanh market for shopping time. These bustling and well-organized markets are very popular with tourists, primarily due to their central location.
Overnight in HCMC.
This morning you will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250 kilometers, from Saigon to the Cambodian border, and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War must have been like.
Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels, you have a chance to witness its unique architecture and structure as well as understand why it plays an important role in Vietnam’s history.
After lunch, you will drive to Vung Tau beach city for a short beach escape. Free time at your leisure to relax on the beach.
Overnight in Vung Tau.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you can enjoy the early morning swimming on the beach before check-out of your room.
You will take a short Vung Tau city tour including White Palace, Christ Hill (St. Jacque Janerio), 18 meters high Goddess of Mercy, and Whale Temple dedicated to whales considered as the rescuing gods for Vietnamese fisherman in the east sea.
In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City
Overnight in HCMC.
Arrive in My Tho where you board a private local boat for a leisurely cruise along with the river passing stilt houses, fruit plantations on both sides of the river banks.
Continue by boat to Tan Thach in Ben Tre, and board a hand-rowed sampan to float along natural canals shaded by coconut trees, then sample seasonal fruit and honey tea accompanied by locals performing Southern Vietnamese folk music.
Visit a family business that epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, try delicious coconut candy, and observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and villages.
You will visit the Vinh Trang pagoda before heading back to HCMC.
Overnight in HCMC.
Breakfast at the hotel & free at leisure until getting transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
